Our own pro fly tier Mr. Kim Nyborg was in Newfoundland for the second time and got everything right in the summer of 2015 – with six salmon in the 20 lb´s range, with this giant estimated at + 30 lb´s as the biggest – Many of these fish where caught on the Monster Tube Caddis salmon dry fly on the Humber River, together with friend and renounce dry fly guide Mr. Bill Bryden.

Kim caught many of his fish on the Monster Tube Caddis and Mr. Bill Bryden managed to get some astonishing photos of these leaping giants in the camera… images that we surface anglers love to see –

We hope to be able to publish more of these breathtaking images throughout the upcoming season.

Summer is not so far away (:

How to do it…
Getting to the central western Newfoundland region these rivers are found in is a simple matter of flying into Deer Lake regional airport. Accommodations can be had via traditional full package outfitting lodges of varied quality, as well as time-share, B&Bs, and cottages that can provide or recommend guides.

A list of guides can also be found via the department of tourism but serious monster hunters are better off using the jungle drums of internet forums, social media connections, and/or salmon association contacts – especially after providing a small donation.
